HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Millie Davies scored the first two goals of her career and Aimee Hodgson added one as the Hofstra University women edged Drexel University, 3-2, in a Coastal Athletic Association game at Hofstra Soccer Stadium on Thursday night.

The win was Hofstra’s fourth in a row.

The Pride moved to 5-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in CAA. Drexel dropped to 4-4-1 and 0-2-1 in the league.

Hofstra got on the board at 16:02 as Davies netted her first with assists from Thorhildur Thorhallsdottir and Wiktoria Fronc. Fronc, who extended her point streak to four games, passed to Thorhallsdottir on the right side end line and her cross was sent in by Davies. The Dragons tied it a little over 12 minutes later as Annalena O’Reilly converted on a penalty kick.

Davies snapped the tie with a 30-yard free kick into the upper right corner at 48:39. Hodgson gave the Pride a two-goal cushion nearly 20 minutes later as she sent in a free kick from about the same spot as Davies, this one a low dipping shot that went off a diving goalkeeper Joella Chase.

The goal proved to be the difference as Isabel Kuzy ran down a header from Meg Tate and sent a shot past Hofstra keeper Skylar Kuzmich with 15:50 remaining.

Kuzmich finished with four saves, while Chase made one for the Dragons.

Hofstra will look to keep the win streak going Sunday when it travels to Long Island and CAA-rival Stony Brook for a 2 p.m. game.
