QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John’s University women rallied from a halftime deficit to record a 2-2 draw with Yale University at Belson Stadium on Thursday night.

Nicole Gordon tallied equalizer in the 54th minute for the Red Storm (4-1-2).

Jordyn Levy registered her third goal of the season eight minutes into the game off a free kick. Jessica Garziano and Frederique St.-Jean recorded assists.

Garziano tied the all-time program record for career assists, tying Jamie Clark, who tallied 27 helpers from 1997-2000. The midfielder has five assists, which leads the Big East.

Her long ball from near half field sailed into the box to St.-Jean, who redirected to Levy, who bounced a header into the net.

Four minutes later, the Bulldogs responded on a breakthrough from forward Anita Thorvaldsdottir, who navigated her way free and buried a shot into the bottom corner.

Yale (4-1-2) scored again in the 30th minute, after a long ball from Regan Ludstedt found Thorvaldsdottir behind the Johnnies’ defense. She capitalized for a 2-1 lead.

In the 39th minute, St. John’s goalkeeper Maria O’ Sullivan came out of her 18-yard box to halt a Thorvaldsdottir breakaway.

In the second half, Lauryn Tran carved her way into the box and played a promising cross that was intercepted by the Bulldogs’ defense. As the opposition failed to clear, the ball was directed by a Yale player towards a waiting Gordon, who buried the game-tying goal, her second this season.

The Johnnies will face their second consecutive Ivy League opponent when Harvard University visits for their non-conference finale at Belson on Sunday at 1 p.m.
