If you are into soccer and especially into Rochester professional soccer history, then you will want to attend a special event hosted by Flower City Union on Saturday, Sept. 30 - Rochester Pro Soccer History Night.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – If you are into soccer and especially into Rochester professional soccer history, then you will want to attend a special event hosted by Flower City Union on Saturday, Sept. 30 – Rochester Pro Soccer History Night.

Players from five teams who have represented Rochester soccer over the past six decades will be honored at the Rochester Community Sports Complex – the Rochester Lancers, Rochester Flash, Rochester Rhinos (Rochester New York FC), Western New York Flash and Flower City (see attachment).

Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite Rochester pro soccer jersey to the game, which will pit Flower City against Savannah Clovers FC in a vital National Independent Soccer Association contest at 6 p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Fans wearing those jerseys will receive merchandise and beverage discounts during the match.

Flower City also is planning a small event on the party deck to get photos and autographs with and from the former players and coaches. A list of those individuals attending will be made available soon.

The team will return to New York as Salt City Union as it will host the Michigan Stars in Auburn, N.Y. on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. After playing at Gold Star FC on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., Flower City Union will come back to Rochester to welcome Savannah on Sept. 30.

The squad will close out the regular season with two more home games – Albion San Diego on Saturday, Oct. 7 and Chattanooga FC on Saturday, Oct. 14. Both matches are set for 6 p.m.
