Don’t expect Red Bulls midfielder Lewis Morgan to be filling the net anytime soon.

Morgan went successful hip surgery on Thursday, the MLS club announced on Saturday. He will miss the remainder of the season.

After collected 18 goals across all competitions in 2022, Morgan was expected to fill the net again. However, he played in but five matches, not recording a point, while logging 297 minutes due to an ongoing hip injury.

It was not known why the Red Bulls had waited so long to repair the injury.

The Red Bulls, one of the poorest scoring teams in the league, return to action at New York City FC at Yankee Stadium next Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
