ROCHESTER, N.Y. – It turned out to be a tough day at the office for Flower City Union and Flower City 1872 on Saturday.

Not only did the teams lose their respective games, but they were also shut out as well at the Rochester Community Sports Complex.

The women lost their first game as Flower City 1872 to rival FC Buffalo, 6-0, in United Women’s Soccer action in the first game of the doubleheader before the men were edged by FC Chattanooga in the nightcap, 1-0.

Markus Naglestad scored in the 44th minute off Juan Louis’ assist for the visitors, who recorded their second victory over the National Independent Soccer Association campaign over last-place Flower City (0-4-0). First-place Chattanooga improved to 4-0-2.

In the women’s match, Marcy Barberic connected for a hat-trick, and Carissima Cutrona, and second-half substitutes Bogner and Morgan Kulniszewski added single tallies for FC Buffalo. The visitors enjoyed a 2-0 halftime lead before exploding for four goals in the final half.

Flower City Union plays as the Salt City Union in its first game at Falcon Park Stadium on Saturday, May 27 at p.m. against the Los Angeles Force. Its next game in Rochester will be against Gold Star FC on Saturday, June 10 at 6 p.m.

Flower City 1872 hosts BC United on Saturday, May 27 at 2:30 p.m.
