In an attempt to secure season tickets holders, New York City FC on Wednesday unveiled artist’s renderings of its soccer-specific stadium at Willets Point, Queens.
The 25,000-seat stadium, which will be privately financed by the City Football Group, NYCFC’s owners. will cost in the neighborhood of $780 million.
Plans for the stadium were unveiled in Queens on Nov. 16, 2022.
It is expected to open in time for the 2027 MLS campaign.
The stadium surroundings will include:
* 2,500 units of 100 percent affordable housing
* A new 650-seat public elementary school
* A hotel and retail shops
* And 40,000-square feet of public open space
