Atlanta United Tuesday announced that goalkeeper Brad Guzan is expected to miss an estimated 10-to-12 weeks after suffering a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at New York City FC.

The injury occurred in the 18th minute when Gabe Segal contacted Guzan on a challenge during an attempted cross toward goal.

Guzan will be reevaluated later during the recovery process to determine his return to the field.

Atlanta (4-1-2, 14 points) returns to action Saturday when it travels to face Toronto FC at BMO Field (7:30 p.m. ET).
