New York City FC dropped a 1-0 decision at the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night.

Amine Bassi converted a penalty kick in the 55th minute, which served as the MLS match’s lone goal.

The defeat dropped NYCFC to 2-2-1 as Houston improved to 2-2-0.

Houston broke the deadlock from the spot in the 54th minute. After a VAR check – the referee ruled that Hector Herrera had been upended by Tayvon Gray in the box, Bassi converted his second PK of the season, this one past NYCFC goalkeeper Luis Barraza.

With Maxime Chanot and Mitja Ilenic away on international duty, City head coach Nick Cushing made one change to the Starting XI. Alfredo Morales made his first start of the season. New loan signing Richy Ledezma was introduced from the bench for his first City appearance.
