Red Bulls midfielder Steven Sserwadda has been named to Uganda men’s national team roster for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches this month.
Sserwadda and Uganda will play two Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Tanzania on Friday and Tuesday, March 28. Uganda have posted a 1-1-1 mark in ACN qualifying, including a 1-0 win against Senegal on Jan. 18.
Sserwadda has earned five caps, including three starts while playing 300 minutes. He made his senior team debut on March 25, 2022, against Tajikstan.
The Kampala, Uganda native made two appearances for the Red Bulls in 2022. He made his MLS debut against Atlanta United FC on June 30, 2022, and he made 14 appearances for Red Bulls II. Sserwadda scored his first professional goal against New Mexico United on July 31.
