Carli Lloyd (above) and Shannon Boxx will speak at the SheBelieves Summit this weekend.

U.S. Soccer Wednesday announced that U.S. Women’s National Team legends Carli Lloyd and Shannon Boxx will headline the roster of diverse and accomplished speakers for the 2023 SheBelieves Summit.

The event will take place at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas on Saturday and Sunday and will be hosted by Ari Chambers, founder of HighlightHER, the social media platform that highlights women’s sports.

Lloyd is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time World Cup Champion who played for the USWNT for 17 years (2005-2021). Lloyd is the second-most capped player in USWNT history with 316 games played and the USA’s third all-time leading scorer with 134 international goals.

She was awarded the most prestigious and highest award in soccer when she was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016. She is one of only two American players to receive the award twice. Lloyd holds the unique distinction of scoring in every Olympic medal match and holds the record for all-time leading scorer in USWNT Olympic history with 10 goals. She is the only American player to score in four Olympics (2008, 2012, 2016, 2020).

Off the field, Lloyd is a role model who strives to empower and inspire others to be better every day and to never give up on achieving their goals. She also runs her own CL10 Soccer Clinics for both boys and girls ages 8-18 and is the bestselling author of When Nobody Was Watching. Lloyd empowers audiences to find their own success with lessons from both within and beyond the world of sports.

Boxx was a tenacious midfielder who has never shied away from a challenge on the field or off. She is a three-time Olympic gold medal winner, a 2015 FIFA women’s World Cup champion and was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2022. Her rise to the USWNT was unique in that she made the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup Team without ever previously earning a cap, becoming the only player in history to do so. In her 12 years on the USWNT, Boxx started 177 of her 195 career matches and scored 27 goals from the midfield.

She was an executive mentor for Wolfpack Endeavor from 2019-2021, focusing on empowering women to reinvent work through elite teams of female leaders. She is a Co-founder of Ethos Mentality, which helps to support and empower athletes redefine who they really are beyond sport, as well as Co-founder and Community Impact Leader for a youth soccer academy that is committed to developing and preserving the game for young female athletes. She is a founding investor in Angel City FC, the first female-owned professional soccer team in history and is one of four PNW Regional Council Members for the Lupus Foundation of America. Boxx, who has been forthcoming about living with lupus, serves as an ambassador and spokesperson for the organization.
