NJ/NY Gotham FC Friday confirmed that midfielder Taryn Torres suffered a season-ending ACL injury during preseason training camp in Bradenton, Fla.
Torres will undergo surgery.
“Taryn is a key contributor to this team both on and off the field,” Gotham FC head coach Juan Carlos Amorós said in a statement. “While we will miss her on the field, we will fully support her recovery every step of the way, and look forward to her returning as strong as ever.”
Torres earned nine starts in 13 games last season. She had a passing distribution rating of 80.5 percent during her rookie campaign after being selected as the No. 21 pick in the 2021 National Women’s Soccer League draft.
