Red Bulls midfielder Dru Yearwood has obtained his U.S. green card and he has become a U.S. permanent resident, the Major League Soccer club announced on Friday.

Yearwood will no longer occupy an international spot on New York’s roster.

The 22-year-old Yearwood has played three seasons for the Red Bulls.

He has made 66 MLS appearances and has recorded three goals and three assists.

Last season, Yearwood scored two goals in 25 appearances. The midfielder set career-highs in goals scored (two) and shots on goal (six).

New York opens its season at Orlando City on Saturday.
