Gotham FC on Wednesday announced its 2023 National Women’s Soccer League schedule.
The fixture list consists of 22 NWSL regular season matches (11 home, 11 away) and six Challenge Cup games (three home, three away). As Gotham FC prepares for a bold reintroduction this season, its roster of NWSL and FIFA Women’s World Cup stars has the home team stacked.
Gotham FC will host 14 home matches at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., including 12 home games slated for either Saturdays or Sundays.
Some of the schedule highlights:
* Sunday, March 26: Gotham FC will open the season on the road at Angel City FC.
* Saturday, April 1: Led by first-year head coach Juan Carlos Amorós and several major offseason acquisitions – including Lynn Williams, Kelley O’Hara, and Yazmeen Ryan – Gotham FC makes its 2023 home debut against U.S. women’s national team midfielder Megan Rapinoe and OL Reign at RBA.
* Wednesday, April 19: Gotham FC kicks off its first NWSL Challenge Cup match at home at RBA against O’Hara’s former club, the Washington Spirit.
* Sunday, July 2: During the rematch against Angel City at RBA, Gotham FC will host a sendoff for the club’s players who are candidates to compete for their national teams at the Women’s World Cup.
* Sunday, Aug. 27: Gotham FC hosts Racing Louisville at Red Bull Arena on Women’s Equality Day.
