The U.S. Soccer Federation has selected Orlando to host the U.S. men’s national team’s final match of the 2023 Nation’s League Group D against El Salvador on March 27 at Exploria Stadium, it was announced on Wednesday.
USA-El Salvador will be broadcast live on TNT and Universo and streamed on Peacock.
Coverage begins at 7 p.m., with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the USMNT on Twitter (@USMNT), Instagram (@USMNT), Facebook and the official U.S. Soccer App.
After a 3-2 extratime win over Mexico in extra time of the inaugural championship match in 2021, the USMNT continues its title defense with two matches to close out Group D.
In second place with four points and one behind El Salvador, the USA opens the window away to Grenada on March 24 at Kirani James Athletic Stadium in Saint George (8 p.m. ET; WBD Sports, Universo, Peacock).
In their first meeting, a four-goal bonanza from Jesús Ferreira propelled the Americans to a 5-0 win on June 10 in Austin, Texas.
Exploria Stadium has been a fortress for the USMNT, with the team posting a 5-0-0 record at the venue. In addition to World Cup Qualifiers, the stadium has hosted a Concacaf Nations League group match. In 2019, the USMNT defeated Canada, 4-1, in League A play. Gyasi Zardes grabbed a brace, Jordan Morris tallied a goal and an assist while Aaron Long also scored in the victory that made Gregg Berhalter the second-fastest coach in team history to reach 10 wins.
The last time these two teams met, the USA came from behind to tie El Salvador 1-1 in a Concacaf Nations League group stage match played on a rain-soaked, mud-patched field at Estadio Cuscatlán. After El Salvador’s Alexander Larin put the home side up 10 minutes before the half, second-half substitutes Luca de la Torre and Jordan Morris combined to bring the Americans level in second-half stoppage time, with Morris heading in de la Torre’s cross for the equalizer.
