Weston McKennie is ready to go at Leeds United.

After signing with the English Premier League club, the U.S. international midfielder is ready to play with USMNT teammates Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson.

Juventus has loaned McKennie to Leeds, which has the option of purchasing his contract.

“It feels good to be a Leeds player,” McKennie said on the Leeds website. “I’ve heard a lot of great things from you [Adams], Brenden Aaronson and [head coach] Jesse Marsch, everyone tells me about the atmosphere here.

“Obviously I did my own research on the club and the support is wild. I’m really excited to be here and playing in the Premier League is a dream.

“Knowing I’m going to be playing with some of my teammates from the national team, I’m sure it will be easy to fit in and it was an easy decision for me.”

Leeds United definitely has a strong American flavor. Former Red Bulls head coach Chris Armas is an assistant coach with the team.

“I’m excited to play at Elland Road, unfortunately the first two games are away, but when we play at home I’m sure I’ll have such a big adrenaline rush,” McKennie said.

“I like the No. 8 role, going box to box, trying to create plays and then getting back defensively.

“I want to help the club get as many points as possible in the second half of the season, for myself I want to be as big as a help as I can and win games.”

Leeds will play at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
