Weston McKennie will join Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson in the Leeds United midfield.

Just call Leeds United America’s team.

Weston McKennie will play for the English Premier League side on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports out of Britain.

It will mean Leeds will have a three-man U.S. men’s national team midfield along with Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson. Former Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch is the Leeds head coach and his one-time assistant coach, Chris Armas, joined the team as an assistant coach this week.

According to transfer wizard Fabrizio Romano, Leeds has agreed to a $1.4 million loan fee to pay Juventus. The deal also includes an option clause to purchase the FC Dallas’ product for $38.75 million, plus add-ons.

The Daily Mail reported that Leeds beat out late bid from Nottingham Forest and Fulham. The latter team has a pair of Americans on the back – Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson.

McKennie, who scored nine goals in 70 matches for the Italian Serie A side since joining the club from Schalke in 2020, has agreed to personal terms with the club, Romano reported. He added that Leeds president Andrea Radrizzani unlocked the deal late Friday night.

He is scheduled for a medical at Leeds on Sunday.
