St. John’s University graduate defender Brooke Boyd and senior midfielder Jessica Garziano Wednesday were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region team.

Boyd earned a spot on the second team while Garziano grabbed third-team honors. The announcement marked the second consecutive year that Garziano has been recognized by the organization after landing on the All-East Region second team in 2021.

Boyd, who was named to the All-Big East first team this season, was an integral part of the Red Storm’s back four, a defense that only 14 goals in the regular season and posted seven shutouts in 19 matches. The Silver Spring, Md. native scored two goals, including the equalizer in a draw with Creighton Universiity on Oct. 6.

Garziano also was chosen to the All-Big East second team for the second consecutive season on Nov. 2. The Melville, N.Y., native paced the Johnnies in several offensive categories, including points, assists and shots. The senior logged four goals.
