South Korea and Uruguay played the fourth scoreless draw of the opening round of the World Cup on Thursday.

The result favored the Asian side because Uruguay was considered the favorite entering the Group H match at Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.

The encounter had few scoring opportunities, although the South Americana side hit the woodwork twice. Diego Godin’s shot bounded off the post in the 43rd minute and Federico Valverde also hit it in the 89th minute.

The Koreans pressed forward and attacked, but could not find the back of the net.

With two matches remaining on Thursday’s schedule, Mexico and Poland, Denmark and Tunisia, Morocco and Croatia, and Korea and Uruguay have played to nil-nil results.

The Koreans will face Ghana in its second match while Uruguay will meet Portugal.
