Croatia, the 2018 World Cup runners-up, was held to a scoreless draw by Morocco in a Group F match at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar on Wednesday.

The northern African side did a solid job on stopping Croatia captain Luka Modric, who was named the Golden Ball winner at Russia 2018.

Croatia, however, enjoyed the better scoring chances. Dejan Lovren had a shot cleared off the goal line and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou’s kick save denied Nikola Vlasic’s close-range shot.

It was the third 0-0 result over the past two days.

On Tuesday, Tunisia and Denmark, and Mexico and Poland played to scoreless draws.

Morocco’s best opportunity came in the second half as goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic punched away Achraf Hakimi’s attempt.

The U.S. men’s national team recorded a 3-0 victory over Morocco in an international friendly on June 1.
