Henry Kirkman scored two minutes and 19 seconds into extratime to lift Williams College to a 21 win over the New York University men in an NCAA Division III tournament first round match at Shoemaker Field in Mechanicsburg, Pa. on Saturday.
Kirkman’s second goal of the match was set up by David Wang.
Williams took the lead at 44:15 on Kirkman’s first tally of the match off assists by Marshall Miller and Nick Boardman.
NYU equalized at 78:18 behind Talal Said’s penalty kick.
The Violets out shot Williams, 23-11, forcing their foes’ goalkeeper to make seven saves.
NYU is coached by former U.S. women’s national team goalkeeper Kim Wyant.
