New York City FC has listed five players as questionable for its MLS Eastern Conference final against the Philadelphia Union in Chester, Pa. on Sunday (FS1, 8 p.m. 1).

They are defenders Tayvon Gray and Maxime Chanot, midfielders Alfredo Morales and Maxi Moralez and forward Talles Magno are all nursing issues heading into the game.

All but Magno have lower body issues. He is trying to overcome an upper body injury prior to the MLS Cup Playoff match.

“It’s unclear really we still have one more day,” interim head coach Nick Cushing said during a Zoom media press conference on Friday. “We still haven’t had the likes of Maxi Morales, Talles Magno – Tavon Gray came out a little bit today but went back in with ankle pain again. We haven’t ruled them out but it’s going to be so difficult to roll those guys out in a game like this when they haven’t seen the training field all week.”

Cushing was hoping another day of training and proper medical care will help clean up some of the injuries.

“It’s unfortunate for us in this game, but one more day and we have a terrific medical team here and until they tell me they’re out I’m still considering them,” he said. “We’ve had a chance to practice with all of the guys we have this week.”
