Crystal Dunn scored her first goal of the season three minutes into stoppage to boost the Portland Thorns to a 2-1 semifinal victory over San Diego Wave FC to book a spot in the National Women’s Soccer League final in Portland, Ore. on Sunday night.

The Thorns will play the Kansas City Current in next week’s championship game. KC defeated OL Reign in the other semifinal on Sunday.

The Rockville Centre, N.Y. native scored off a corner kick that the visitors could not clear. She got a hold of the loose ball at the top of the penalty area and powered a shot into the upper left corner of the net.

“Everything came together in this moment,” Dunn said. “I’m so proud of the team.”

Dunn had missed several months of action after giving birth to her first child, Marcel, in May.

It was Dunn’s fifth playoff goal, the second most in league history and first among active NWSL players. Amy Rodriguez leads the way with six scores.

Dunn became the first player to tally three goals for three teams – North Carolina Courage, Washington Spirit and now Portland.

Taylor Kornieck headed in Alex Morgan’s right-wing cross to lift San Diego into the lead in the eighth minute.

Costa Rican international Raquel Rodriguez equalized for the hosts in the 20th minute. After the Wave tried to clear a corner kick, Rodriguez got ahold of the ball and sent a half volley from distance into the upper right hand corner of the goal.
