New York City FC will begin its defense of the MLS Cup Playoff title at a baseball park on Monday, according to several reports.

No, not at Yankee Stadium, the team’s home pitch, but at Citi Field.

The club announced Tuesday that it had moved its game against Inter Miami CF from Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. to Queens, N.Y., thanks to the Mets being eliminated from the National League playoffs.

The Cityzens match still will kick off at 7 p.m.

NYCFC won’t be able to play at Yankee Stadium as long as the Yankees are still alive and kicking in the American League playoffs.
