Hofstra sophomore midfielder Eliot Goldthorp was named the Colonial Athletic Association offensive player of the week Monday following a four-goal performance in the Pride’s two wins last week.
The award was the second of the season for the Leeds, England native.
Goldthorp started his week with his first career hat-trick at Columbia University in Hofstra’s 5-1 win. He then had a game-tying penalty kick goal late in the second half of what ended up a2-1 CAA victory at UNCW on Saturday night. Goldthorp has scored six goals in his last three games and has been a big reason for the Pride’s eight-game unbeaten streak. He has a team-best 10 goals and 23 points, leading the CAA in both categories.
Hofstra will look to extend its unbeaten streak when it hosts Saint Joseph’s on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
