The St. John’s University women recorded a 1-0 win over Providence College in a Big East game at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. on Sunday afternoon.
Molly Feighan recorded her first goal as a Red Storm (6-4-4, 3-2-1) player. The forward powered a blast into the bottom of the net in the 61st minute.The Pleasant Valley, N.Y., native found herself on the right side of the net and sent a rocket over the goalkeepers head and into the short side of the net for the lone goal.
Senior goalkeeper Gina Muzi made one save in St. John’s first road win of the season. Providence’s Emma Bodner made two stops for the Friars (4-8-1, 2-3-0).
The Johnnies visit Butler University on Thursday at 3 p.m.
