The Red Bulls will host FC Cincinnati in Round One of the MLS Cup Playoffs on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Red Bull Arena, the club announced Sunday night.
Kickoff is set for noon ET with local coverage on MSG, MSG Go, New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com, while national coverage will be on UniMas and TUDN.
The Red Bulls are thefourth seed after finishing the season with a 15-11-8 mark in the regular season to clinch home field advantage in the opening round of the playoffs. New York clinched its 13th consecutive postseason berth, which is the longest active streak in MLS and is tied for the longest streak in league history.
The team has qualified 23 times for the MLS Cup Playoffs, which is the most in league history, and have only missed out on the playoffs four times in franchise history. The Red Bulls’ consecutive streak of 13 postseason berths is the longest stretch among major sports teams in the New York metro area in 2022.
This will be the first time New York and FC Cincinnati have faced each other in the postseason. The two clubs battled to a pair of draws this season, but the Red Bulls hold the advantage in the overall series with a 4-2-3 mark.
