In a rare start, Christian Pulisic connected for his first goal of the English Premier League season on Saturday, helping Chelsea to a 3-0 home win over Wolverhampton at Stamford Bridge in London.

The U.S. men’s national team star forward gave the Blues a 2-0 advantage in the 54th minute. He was part of the build-up, racing down the left flank, exchanging passes with midfielder Mason Mount. Mount possessed the ball outside of the penalty area before he slipped a pass between two defenders to Pulisic.

Pulisic went 1 v 1 with goalkeeper Jose Sa before chipping the ball with his left foot.

Considered the USA’s best men’s player, Pulisic has been a forgotten man on Chelsea. Including Saturday’s game he has played eight EPL matches and 233, mainly off the bench.

Hopefully, the goal will pave the way for the 24-year-old forward to get more playing time as the World Cup in Qatar looms closer and closer.
