Red Bulls II dropped a 1-0 decision to the Oakland Roots SC at Laney College Football Stadium in Oakland, Calif. on Saturday night.

NYRBII (14 points) fell to 3-22-5 while Oakland Roots improved to 9-9-12 and 39 points in the USL Championship.

Oakland scored the lone goal in the 76th minute, as Edgardo Rito made a run down the far side of the field after a feed from Charlie Dennis and sent in a low pass to Óttar Karlsson, who slid and tapped the ball into the back of the net.

Goalkeeper Giannis Nikopolidis recorded seven saves. He has accumulated 15 over his last two starts. The first-year keeper has recorded seven or more saves in three matches this season.

Red Bulls II will return home for its home finale against Detroit city FC on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
