Right back Joe Scally Wednesday was named to the U.S. men’s national team’s 26-man roster for its two friendlies this month.

The Lake Grove, N.Y. native has been playing well for Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Bundesliga this season. He has made six league starts and appearances, performing for 526 minutes.

Scally, 19, who would have attended Sachem East High School before he signed with New York City FC in 2018, joined the Germany team for the 2021 season.

He has made two international appearances for the USA.

The Americans play Japan in Dusseldorf, Germany on Sept. 23 and Saudi Arabia in Murcia, Spain on Sept. 27.
