Rochester Lady Lancers supporters knew Katie Cappelletti was superb during this past United Women’s Soccer season.

The league has recognized how good Cappelletti was for the Lady Lancers by naming the Saint Joseph’s University junior as its East Conference goalkeeper of the year.

Center back Caroline Kopp was named to the UWS East Conference second team.

Capptelletti was a major reason why Rochester tied FC Buffalo for the Penn-NY Division crown.

She helped her team post seven shutouts, the most in the East — including six consecutive shutouts to close out the season.

The DeWitt, N.Y. native made a habit of coming up in big moments, saving penalties and stonewalling attempts from point-blank range.

This fall, the 6-foot Cappelletti has had her hands full as the Hawks have dropped their first four matches of the season.
