Timing as they say, is everything.

Tell that to midfielder Daniel Edelman, who picked the perfect time to score his first MLS goal.

It came in the 53rd minute of the Red Bulls 3-1 home win over Inter Miami CF at Red Bull Arena, a tally that turned out to be the winning goal.

Edelman called it an “unbelievable feeling.”

“I just went over to my mom at the end of the game and she’s out in tears,” he told MSG Networks. “To see my mom and see my dad my grandmother here tonight is almost full circle. It is everything and it brings all together and what I’ve worked for him to do in front of the fans tonight on top get the three points. There’s no other better feeling.”

An unmarked Edelman came close to finding the net last week, but booted his attempt over the net in the 1-1 draw with FC Cincinnati.

Asked what was the exchange with his mother like, Edelman replied, “A lot of crying, but just saying how proud she is and that you know there’s there’s much more and that I’m striving for much more.”

Edelman converted a header from Cristian Casseres, Jr. inside the penalty area to snap a 1-1 tie.

“He grows in the right direction with the right patience,” Red Bulls head coach Gerhard Struber said. “In the last few months there os the right training. This is the most important thing with young players. He has the attitude to work in the daily business on a high level and now you can see the end product and the output. This is looks very sexy at the moment.”
