After snapping its 16-game winless streak last week, Red Bulls II returned to a familiar result on Saturday night.

The team lost.

Red Bulls II dropped a 2-0 USL Championship decision to Monterey Bay FC at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside, Calif.

The visitors, who have nine points in 20 games this season, fell to 2-15-3 while Monterey improved to 6-11=2 and 20 points.

Monterey Bay opened the scoring in the 15th minute, as Adrian Rebollar sent in a ball from just outside the box to Simon Dawkins, who headed it into the back of the net.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 89th minute, as Sam Gleadle tallied following a pass from Jason Johnson on a counterattack.

Defender Hassan Ndam made his season debut with Red Bulls II after signing with the club on July 14, playing the full 90 minutes. The match was the 80th of Ndam’s USL Championship career and first with Red Bulls II since Nov. 2, 2018.

Red Bulls II will return home to kick off a four-match homestand, beginning on July 31 against New Mexico United at 6 p.m. ET.
