Red Bulls II lost yet again.

And the sun also rises.

The USL Championship team’s winless streak reached 10 games as dropped a 2-1 decision to Birmingham Legion at MSU Soccer Park on the campus of Montclair State University in Montclair, N.J. on Friday night.

NYRBII (1-10-1, 4 points) last won more than two months ago on March 16. Birmingham, (16), which snapped a 1-1 deadlock in the 81st minute, improved to 4-4-4.

The visitors got on the board in the 12th minute, as Prosper Kasim slid a low cross through to Enzo Martinez. Martinez took a shot that glanced off goalkeeper AJ Marcucci and went in for his second goal of the season.

Red Bulls II answered back in the 25th minute, with Jordan Adebayo-Smith corralling a long pass, moving around a defender and ripping a shot into the back of the net. Adebayo-Smith’s score was his third this season, which tied him for the team lead. It was his seventh of his USL Championship career.

The Legion scored the game-winner in the 81st minute, with Marlon Santos converting a feed from Jonathan Dean.

Jeremy Rafanello appeared in his 50th USL Championship match. It was his 39th with New York to go along with nine for Indy Eleven and two for Philadelphia Union II.

Sam Williams set a new career-high in minutes, raising his season total to 758. Michael Knapp made his first start of the season, playing 45 minutes before coming off at halftime.

Red Bulls II will face San Diego Loyal SC for the first time at Red Bull Arena on Thursday, June 2 at 5 p.m.
