Red Bulls II continued its early season struggles as it dropped a 1-0 decision to Rio Grande Valley FC at the MSU Soccer Park in Montclair, N.J. on Friday night.

The result dropped NYRBII to 1-5-0 while the visitors improved to 2-4-0.

The Toros scored in the 67th minute, as Emilio Ycaza slid in a low crossing pass. The ball ended up at the foot of Frank Lopez, who got just enough on it for the shot to trickle over the goal line.

Midfielder Jesús Castellano made his Red Bulls II debut, playing a full 90 minutes.

Midfielder Daniel Edelman made his season debut for New York.

Goalkeeper AJ Marcucci made one save in goal for the team in his fifth start of the season.
