Red Bulls II hopes for a home-opening span went down the drain during a 24-minute span in the second half of its USL Championship encounter with Loudoun United on Saturday.

The hosts allowed three goals and suffered a 3-0 defeat at MSU Soccer Park.

Tyler Freeman led Loudoun (2-0-0, 6 points) with a brace. Jacob Greene added a goal.

Red Bulls II dropped to 1-2-0.

Loudoun opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, as Freeman found the back of the net off a feed from midfielder Michael Gamble.

The visitors struck again in the 60th minute as Freeman scored his second on a pass from midfielder Jeremy Garay.

Loudoun closed out the scoring in the 76th minute on Greene’ goal.

NYRBII goalkeeper AJ Marcucci recorded a career-high eight saves. It marked the 12th consecutive start for Marcucci with Red Bulls II dating back to September 19, 2021.

Red Bulls forward Zach Ryan made his debut with Red Bulls II in the match.

New York will remain home to host Louisville City FC on Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m.
