Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has liked what he has seen from Christian Pulisic.

The U.S. men’s national team star has been playing well recently, recording a goal and assist in a win against Burnley last week.

“He’s in a good moment and good form,” Tuchel said on the English Premier League team’s website, prior to Chelsea’s game against Norwich City on Thursday. ‘It’s been good link-up between him, [Mason] Mason and Kai [Havertz] so they have assists together, goals together, and they are decisive.’

Pulisic, 23, is averaging a goal or assist every 176 minutes across all competitions.

“For me, what Christian can bring to the team is his physicality and his ability to hit high intensity very repetitively,” Tuchel said. “This is the focus and then the other thing is he has the ambition and the natural hunger to arrive in the six-yard box.

“This is what we need and he needs to focus on these things and start from there. If he does and if he feels the physical fitness and ability to do so, he can have a huge influence on our game.”

Pulisic’s recent performances cannot come at a better time for the USMNT, which will complete its final World Cup qualifying campaign in two weeks.

The USA will visit Mexico on March 24, host Panama on March 27 and play at Costa Rica on March 30.

An in-form Pulisic will be needed by the Americans if they want to play in the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
