FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Friday announced it had agreed to terms for U.S. men’s national team goalkeeper Matt Turner to join Arsenal this summer.

Turner, the 2021 MLS goalkeeper of the year, is expected to join the English Premier League team in late June in a summer transfer for an undisclosed fee. The transfer is pending the completion of a medical exam.

The summer transfer will allow Turner to remain with the Revs through the entirety of the Concacaf Champions League tournament and nearly half of the MLS regular season.

Turner backstopped the USMNT’s three World Cup qualifying matches during the January window. The Americans went 2-1-0, defeating El Salvador, 1-0, and Honduras, 3-0, at home, and falling at Canada, 2-0.
