After missing his first match of the Bundesliga season due to COVID-19 last week, Joe Scally returned to field for Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday.

The Lake Grove, N.Y. native played the final 29 minutes of his team’s 2-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. He replaced Laszlo Benes in the 61st minute.

Scally was forced to self-isolate after he tested positive for COVID-19 and could not play against Bayern Munich last week.

The 19-year-old defender- midfielder had started every match for Borussia this entering this weekend’s action. In fact, the former New York City FC player had missed only 48 minutes this season.
