All 28 Major League Soccer teams are permitted to resume team training this week as preparations begin for the 2022 season.

MLS’ 27th season, which kicks off on Feb. 26, will see the debut of expansion club Charlotte FC, as well as the opening of Nashville SC stadium.

The five MLS teams that qualified for the 2022 Concacaf Champions League may open preseason as early as Monday, while the remaining 23 teams can open camp on Sunday, Jan. 16.

Those five CCL teams are New York City FC, New England Revolution, Colorado Rapids, Seattle Sounders FC and CF Montreal.

Prior to participating in any team activities, all players and Tier 1 and 2 staff members must complete approved molecular testing for COVID-19 and participate in mandatory entrance exams.

While there is no limit to the number of players that a club may have on its roster during preseason, all teams must be roster compliant by Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. ET.
