MLS Cup champion New York City FC will help ring in the new year on Friday night.

Head coach Ronny Deila and center back Maxime Chanot will be in Times Square for the Ball Drop for the final hour of 2021.

They will be alongside host Jonathan Bennet at the 11 p.m. countdown segment.

Deila did the coin toss at the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Thursday.

NYCFC captured its first MLS championship in its seven-year history on Dec. 11, defeating the Portland Timbers in a shootout, 4-2, after playing to a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.
