Only three days after securing its first MLS Cup title, New York City FC could lose a player in the Major League Soccer expansion draft on Tuesday night.
NYCFC, which defeat the Portland Timbers for its first championship, left 11 players unprotected.
Up for grabs are playmaking midfielder Maxi Moralez and midfielder Jesus Medina, forward Ismael Tajouri-Shradi, defender and MLS Cup Playoffs hero and Gudmundur Thorarinsson and right back Anton Tinnerholm, who is recuperating from an Achilles injury.
Charlotte FC, which will begin play next year, can select up to five players off MLS rosters and teams can only lose one player.
