Red Bulls midfielder-forward Caden Clark has been selected to the U.S. men’s national team camp for the first time center back Aaron Long also has been summoned into camp, it was announced Friday morning.

Clark, 18, in his second year with the MLS club, scored four goals and assisted on five others in 17 starts over 24 matches in 2021, in a season that was interrupted by an appendectomy.

The 5-11, 150-lb. Clark made a rousing debut with the club in 2020, connecting twice in 279 minutes over three starts and seven games. He also added a goal in the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Long missed most of the 2021 season with a knee injury.

The USMNT will train in Carson, Ca. beginning Sunday and will conclude camp with an international friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Dignity Health Sports Park on Dec. 18 (FS1, 8 p.m. ET).

The team also will hold another camp starting on Jan. 10 in preparation for the next three World Cup qualifiers.

The Americans will host El Salvador in Columbus, Ohio on Jan. 27 before meeting Canada in Hamilton, Ontario three days later. They complete the winter window against Honduras in St. Paul, Minn. on Feb. 2.
