ELON, N.C. – The Hofstra University women are going to the Colonial Athletic Association Championship match.

Lucy Shepherd scored in the 67th minute to give the second-seeded Pride a 1-0 win over third-seeded James Madison University in the semifinals Thursday night.

Shepherd curled in a low corner kick into the six-yard box that deflected off of a James Madison defender and into the net

Hofstra (15-3-1), which outshot the Dukes (9-9-1), 19-1, recording 10 corner kicks and not conceding any. Goalkeeper Skylar Kuzmich made one save save to earn her 11th shutout and Hofstra’s 12th.

The Pride will take on fourth-seeded Northeastern University for the CAA title. The Huskies upset regular-season champion UNCW during the first semifinal match of the evening, 1-0. The championship match is slated for Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rudd Field.
