Red Bulls II suffered its 18th defeat of the USL Championship season Sunday, dropping a 2-0 decision to Miami FC at Riccardo Silva Stadium.

New York (25 points) fell to 6-18-7 while Miami FC (52) improved to 15-9-7.

Miami opened the scoring in the 18th minute, as midfielder Josh Pérez sent in a cross from the far side of the field that forward Adonijah Reid directed into the net.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 83rd minute, as forward Christiano François maneuvered around a defender and placed the ball low into the far post.

Red Bulls II midfielder Steven Sserwadda made his first career start, playing a season-high 70 minutes.

Midfielder Jake LaCava made his 30th appearance of the season, becoming the fifth player in club history to appear in 30 or more matches in a single season.

Goalkeeper AJ Marcucci recorded three saves.

New York will travel to face Loudoun United FC to conclude the season Saturday at 1 p.m.
