Will Gio Reyna be ready to play for the U.S. men’s national team during the October World Cup qualifying window?

It certainly doesn’t look good.

During Friday’s press conference previewing his team’s Saturday Bundesliga match with Arminia Bielefeld, Borussia Dortmund head coach Marco Rose admitted he didn’t know when the talented midfielder would be available for duty again.

“We are stretched thin in attack because we’re also missing Gio Reyna and there’s no sign yet as to when he’ll be back,” Rose said. “But we accept that and we will try to find ways and means to still win games.”

Reyna suffered a pulled hamstring during a Concacaf Octagonal WCQ match Sept. 5.

He and Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, haven’t seen any action for club or country since then.
