Red Bulls II managed to earn a road draw in USL Championship competition Friday night.

They took home a point after a 1-1 tie at the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla.

New York (22 points) moved to 5-17-2 while Tampa Bay (62) is 20-7-2.

The visitors struck first in the 23rd minute, as midfielder Daniel Edelman found forward Omar Sowe, who set up forward Luther Archimede streaking down the field. Archimede surged past the defense and scored. It was Archimede’s second of the season.

Tampa Bay found the equalizer in the 45th minute as midfielder Sebastian Dalgaard played a ball into the box that New York defender Juan Castillo knocked into the net for an own goal.

Three minutes into second-half stoppage time, Jeremy Rafanello was red carded for violent conduct.

Red Bulls II goalkeeper AJ Marcucci recorded seven saves, tying his season high. His six second half saves were the most in a half for a New York goalkeeper this season.

Midfielder Steven Sserwadda made his club debut, coming on in the 73rd minte for Archimede.

New York will host Loudoun United FC on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for the club’s final home match of the season.
