BLANKED ON THE ROAD: Xavier shuts out St. John’s women, 1-0

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The St. John’s women’s soccer team fell, 1-0, to Xavier University in a Big East match at Corcoran Field Thursday evening.

St. John’s dropped to 6-3-2, 2-1-1, while Xavier improved to 11-1-1, 4-1-0).

Four minutes into the second half, the Musketeers’ Ella Rogers found the back of the net. The sequence began as Chloe Netzel sent a towering pass to Rogers inside the box. Rogers then headed the ball down before corralling the rebound and scoring.

Red Storm goalkeeper Naya Lipkens made five saves.

St. John’s welcomes Georgetown University to Queens Sunday at 1 p.m.
