STORRS, Conn. – A 106th-minute goal propelled UConn to an extratime win over the Monmouth University men Saturday night, 1-0.
Redshirt senior Sean Murray made eight saves for the Hawks (2-1-1) and had his 285-minute shutout streak snapped.
Okem Chime scored on the bottom right of the net on an assist from Moussa Wade for the Huskies (2-1-0).
“We went after it against one of the potential top programs in college soccer tonight,” head coach Robert McCourt said. “We are disappointed not to get at least a point. We were up against a lot tonight and the boys made us proud.”
