NEWARK, Del. – Ian Stone recorded his 250th win of his career Thursday night as the St. John’s University women recorded a 3-0 victory over the University of Delaware.
Zsani Kajan recorded the 10th multi-goal game of her career and Ava Collins added a goal at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
The Red Storm improved to 4-1-1.
Kajan, who led the Big East and ranked second in the nation in scoring entering thhe match, recorded a brace. She has found the back of the net nine times this season and 37 times over her collegiate career. Kajan is tied with Cristin Burtis for third on the program’s all-time scoring list.
She also assisted on Collins’ goal in the 59th minute. Jessica Garziano and Nicole Gordon picked up assists. The duo leads the squad with four assists each.
Goalkeeper Naya Lipkens played the entire way. The Bloomfield, Conn., native turned aside four Delaware shots for her fourth clean sheet of the season.
St. John’s struck early, as Kajan netted the 36th goal of her career in the ninth minute. The sequence began as Garziano sent a long pass up to Kajan inside the box. The 5-7 forward sent a left-footed strike over the head of the goalkeeper.
In the 20th minute, later, Kajan again found the back of the net. Gordon started the play with a pass down the right side for Kajan. She corralled the ball and buried it home for a 2-0 lead.
Collins added a third goal in the 59th minute. The play started as Kajan sent a pass to Collins in the middle of the box. The Auckland, New Zealand native then tapped it home.
