CHICAGO – Here’s an update on the U.S. men’s national team roster for its World Cup qualifying game in Honduras Wednesday night.

Jackson Yueill’s in, Weston McKennie’s out and Sergino Dest is sidelined.

Yueill, 24, has been added to the roster. He is one of four players who appeared in the Concacaf Nations League Final Four and the 2021 Gold Cup. The San Jose Earthquakes midfielder has made seven appearances in 2021 and has 15 caps.

McKennie will not travel to Honduras and is returning to Italy later Monday.

“Weston will return to Italy and will be unavailable for the match against Honduras due to a violation of team policy,” USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter said in a statement. “There are high expectations for those who are a part of the U.S. Men’s National Team, and in order to be successful it’s important that everyone in the group is accountable.”

Dest has been diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and will not be available for the game against Honduras. The Barcelona defender was injured in the 44th minute in the 1-1 draw against Canada.

The Americans will close out the international window with its third WCQ in seven days when it takes on Honduras on Wednesday in San Pedro Sula (10:30 p.m. ET on Paramount+, Telemundo, Universo).
